TAIPEI, June 8 Asia Pulse - More than 65 per cent of businesses have plans to recruit fresh graduates this year, about the same as last year when the job market was stronger, according to the results of a survey released Saturday by an online employment broker.
Of all the new jobs being offered by these businesses, 17.68 per cent will go to fresh graduates, the survey conducted by 1111 Job Bank showed.
The largest portion - 38.89 per cent - of the positions are in the areas of customer service, sales and trade.
Operational, technical and maintenance positions account for 9.26 per cent, and administrative positions account for 6.48 per cent.
Although the percentage of companies looking to hire new graduates remained about the same, the weak economy is being reflected in the average starting monthly salary being offered to fresh graduates, which at NT$24,133 (US$743) is NT$2,010 lower than last year.
