SEOUL, June 8 Asia Pulse - South Korea's economic downturn has been easing but whether it will rebound depends much on the state of the global economy, the nation's top financial and economic policymaker said Monday.
"South Korea's economy depends heavily on outside factors including exports so its recovery can be possible only when the global economy rebounds," Finance Minister Yoon Jeung-hyun said in an interview with Japan's Asahi Shimbun newspaper.
"Now the downturn is easing and things could get better starting from the fourth quarter of this year or the first quarter of next year, though it will take some time," he said.
