* Fish substitution and mislabelling do happen, so a system needs to be put in place to protect consumers from rip-offs and potential health problems.
When you buy fish you're entitled to expect you're getting what you pay for, but recently there have been reports of fish substitution and incorrect labelling.
A number of states and territories took part in a pilot survey (co-ordinated by the WA health department) to get an idea of the extent of the problem before carrying out a large-scale survey. It focused on two species--barramundi and red emperor. Overall, around...
