When looking for a new car, you can do a lot of research yourself before walking into a dealership. The motoring press and especially the internet (for example, the 'cars' section on www.choice.com.au) offer a wide range of information, such as road tests, crash test results and repair costs.
But there are limitations: how well does the car perform in everyday driving situations? How noisy is it, and how easy is it to park? Questions like these can often only be answered after driving the car for a while.
That's why we asked a small panel of CHOICE readers to tell us why they chose a particular model, whether they've had problems with it, its strengths and weaknesses, and whether they consider it good value for money.
