In 1969, New York also laid claim to both titles, with the Mets winning the World Series against the Orioles, and the Jets beating the Colts in the Super Bowl.
In a recent issue of Baseball Digest, there were some statistical measures of Ron Santo, comparing Santo's record with other former third basemen who are in the Hall of Fame.
His statistics place him in the middle of the pack of these honored third basemen, yet he still awaits Hall of Fame election.
