A MAJOR retrospective solo exhibition of sculpture opens today at the Porthminster Gallery, St Ives featuring the work of Margaret Lovell FRBS RWA. This celebrates the artist's 70th birthday and her 50 creative years which have been inspired by organic forms she sees around her.

Apart from the wonderful colours in her sculpture are the dramatic shapes, which are so powerful. It is a superb exhibition, curated by the owner of the gallery, David Durham, who remarked on the "spirit of St Ives" he experienced in handling her work.
