Tokyo, April 10 Kyodo - Prime Minister Taro Aso will leave Tokyo Friday evening for Thailand to attend a series of regional summits on the weekend in Pattaya, where North Korea's recent rocket launch and the global financial crisis are likely to top the agenda.

Aso is scheduled to attend the so-called "ASEAN-plus-three" summit on Saturday and the 16-nation East Asia Summit on Sunday, while holding separate talks Saturday with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and South Korean President Lee Myung Bak, according to Japanese officials.
