Darren Pitt is alleged to have made the confession to a man who had been visiting his ex-wife in Sydney House, Settlers Close, Landport, Portsmouth, on October 5 last year.Spencer Ellis sustained knife injuries during the attack, including two fatal wounds to his heart.A jury at Winchester Crown Court heard that Pitt asked James Lees for a cigarette light while he was standing in a lift in the block of flats.Giving evidence, Mr Lees said: 'He was standing in the lift with the doors open, he sort of had his shoulders and legs holding the lift door open and a pack of cigarettes in his hand.'He said "I have done something terrible", or words to that effect.
