Syrian analyst ridicules opposition figure's statement on negotiations.

Al-Jazeera Satellite TV at 1324 gmt on 5 April reports the following:

"Syrian opposition figure and former vice president Abd-al-Halim Khaddam has said that the Muslim Brotherhood's withdrawal from the opposition's National Salvation Front came as no surprise. Khaddam said that negotiations are under way between the Brotherhood and the regime in Damascus, adding that the Brotherhood's last statement sought to cover up these negotiations by tying them to the issues of Gaza, the Palestinian people, and their resistance, as he put it."
