How do we talk about the virtues? This was a question posed at the third of the Capitalism in Crisis events by one of the participants, Dr Rowan Williams . His fellow panellists, the sociologist Professor Richard Sennett and psychoanalyst Susie Orbach , agreed: the current economic emergency has thrown up profound moral questions that we must address. The question, though, is how.The obvious way is to analyse the behaviour that has led to the recession in moral terms. For the archbishop, that has much to do with pride, defined as "the absolute terror of not being in control".
