DOHA SUMMITS BACK UAE REQUEST TO HOST IRENA.
DOHA, April 1 Asia Pulse - The Arab Summit and Summit of Arab-South American Countries expressed today their support for the UAE to host the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi.
Voting on the UAE request will take place during the second conference of IRENA next June in Egypt. A number of European countries including Germany and Austria are competing with the UAE to host the agency.
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) truly came into being on January 26, 2009 at the Founding Conference of IRENA in Bonn.
More than 120 government delegations from across the world attended the conference and a total of 75 nations, a broad cross-section of developing and industrialized countries, signed the Agency's statute. Many others expressed their strong commitment to IRENA's goals and their intention to ...
