SEOUL, April 1 Asia Pulse - South Korean stocks opened higher Wednesday as investor sentiment got a boost from overnight Wall Street gains, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) increased 4.81 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 1,211.07 in the first 15 minutes of trading.

Financial shares led the gain, helped by solid retail purchasing.
