LONDON, April Asia Pulse - Kevin Rudd is proving to be just as popular away from home as in Australia.
According to the Bishop of London, the election of Mr Rudd as prime minister in November 2007 was something of "an Obama moment" for Australia.
Bishop Richard Chartres heaped praise on the Australian prime minister during a forum at St Paul's Cathedral in central London on Tuesday.
In a dialogue about "Money, Integrity and Wellbeing" for the St Paul's Institute, about 1,500 people filled the famous cathedral to hear Mr Rudd and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown discuss morality, politics and the economy.
In introducing Mr Rudd to the forum, the bishop was enthusiastic, referring to Mr Rudd as "right honourable", a title not used for Australian prime ministers or ministers since the Whitlam government severed ties with Britain's Privy Council as Australia's highest court of appeal in the 1970s.
