TAIPEI, April 1 Asia Pulse - Vice President Vincent Siew touted Taiwan as a potential source of goods Tuesday, saying the country provides a wide range of high-quality industrial products at a reasonable price that offer considerable value to overseas buyers.
Siew was speaking at the opening ceremony of Sourcing Taiwan 2009, organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
Siew described Taiwan's accession to the World Trade Organization's Government Procurement Agreement last December as symbolizing the country's determination to open its market to the world, and he called on overseas buyers to help Taiwan boost its exports by opting for its quality products.
Under the principle of a liberal and open market, Taiwan looks forward to forging a partnership with overseas buyers that not only is mutually beneficial but also lasts forever, the vice president said.
