Bristol is being failed by its present system of local government and desperately needs an elected mayor, says veteran councillor Peter Abraham.
Mr Abraham, who has held the largely ceremonial role of Lord Mayor of Bristol three times, says education, transport and waste disposal should be taken out of the hands of local councils and handed to a new Mayor of Greater Bristol.
"We have indecisive government in Bristol and we need something very different," he told the Post exclusively.
