The importance of developing strategic mutual trust between China and Japan goes without saying. However, because of the complicated nature of bilateral relations, the degree of difficulty can also be expected to be high. The key problem is mutual suspicion caused by competition between the two countries. At the same time, the necessity of strategic mutual trust between China and Japan goes without saying, because despite all the past hatred and enmity, and despite the future status for which both countries are positioning themselves and the national psychological adjustments that necessarily goes along with this, China and Japan have to come together. There is no other way.
