Notice a theme? It's not your imagination. Selma Blair has an official policy: Offscreen, she wears black and white exclusively (though she mixes in the occasional racy gray). But even with her restricted color palette, she manages to reveal her creativity. Blair doesn't trot out a parade of monotonous black dresses; instead, she wears a wide-leg jumpsuit or a belted romper with ruffled sleeves. By baring a bit of skinin a cutout dress, a plunging V-neck, or a dangerously short minishe makes it clear that she doesn't need bright hues to turn heads. Blair also plays with dark and light by adding a little sparkle to her deep, dark wardrobe, whether it's shimmering gold bangles, fabric with intense sheen, or rhinestone buckles on her shoes. Such brilliant touches bring new meaning to "back in black."
Bob and Weave
Selma Blair's hair is, in a word, versatile. A well-placed clip and doll-like flipped bob give her an air of innocence, while extensions make her look like a chill surfer girl. Sometimes Blair lets her bangs fall right over her forehead; other days, she pushes them aside, parting her hair sharply. "It's the small things that completely change her whole look," says her hairstylist, Chris McMillan, who adds that the actress likes to tailor her hair to what she wears .
