Siren Call

Thank you, allure, for finally giving Eva Mendeswhom we've literally seen so much of in those stunning Calvin Klein adsthe profile she deserved in January's "Preparing for Takeoff." Judy Bachrach's story revealed Mendes to be a self-made woman, whom I now admire. Instead of whining about what she doesn't have, Mendes continues to pull herself up by the bootstraps, just like her mother before her. That her hard work has not always led to success just makes her all the more likable and relatable.

New York City

After looking through all the pictures of Eva Mendes over the years in your January profile, I felt slightly irritated by her snide comments about her weight and her "fat face." Eva is a beautiful woman, and it saddens me to read that she doesn't see it. It's almost a slap in the face to girls who don't have perfect bodies to have her complain about hers. I'm not sure you want a beautiful woman who is not confident representing your magazine. I feel allure should both enlighten women and inspire them to become beautiful inside and out.
