What is believed to be one of the biggest studies into workplace health is being launched by a team of researchers at Nottingham Trent University.
The GBP320,000 project will see researchers spend over two years working with 40 companies in an attempt to analyse and understand the factors that lie behind a problem that costs 13.5 million lost working days a year.
Unlike previous studies, which have focused on tangible factors like job characteristics and the working environment, this investigation will examine the impact company policies and cultures have on health and wellbeing.
