from BUSINESS LINE, March 10, 2009 Chennai, March 9 - Wheels India Ltd, the Rs 1,140-crore company of the TVS group, is entering the power sector. But no, it is not setting up a power plant. It wants to make "steel structural components" for power plants - specially made steel products such as girders, columns and beams that support a boiler.
On the anvil is a plan to invest Rs 40 crore in setting up a factory at Deoli, near Nagpur.
The plant is coming up in the 30-acre plot in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation and, according to Mr Srivats Ram, Managing Director, will be operational in the second half of 2009.
