Herat, 7 March: At least three persons have been killed, including a police officer, in a suicide attack [in western Afghanistan], said governor of Nimroz Province Gholam Dastgir Azad. Speaking to Afghan Islamic Press [AIP], he said: "A suicide bomber attacked a centre of security police of the first police station in Zaranj, the capital of Nimroz, this morning, killing one police officer and two civilians."

The governor added: "The suicide bomber was on foot. He first shot dead a police guard before carrying out the suicide attack."
