National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has stated that the fire was erupted in Marriott hotel due to short circuit, as renovation and electricity repairing work was continuing in one portion of the hotel which was destroyed in last year blast. Chairman NDMA Lt General Farooq Khan (Retd) said that the fire erupted due to the negligence of workers busy in repairing electricity wires in one portion of the hotel.
