Higher oil price, markup main source of inflation.

The inflation will not slide down till the government passes oil price decline to the consumer that is a basic input in the agriculture, industry and transport sectors of the country and reduce mark up rate. The oil price now has been declined from US $148 to $40 per barrel in the international market.

But the government of Pakistan did not pass on the relief of oil prices to the consumers and still earning Rs 700 million on daily basis by not adjusting the price reduction, said Irfan Qaiser Shaikh, Chairman Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) while talking to Business Recorder here on Thursday.
