NEXT year is World Cup year, and so there could be more new rules for the old game. Iive been given a sneak preview of the changes to be discussed when the IFAB (International Football Association Board) meet in Northern Ireland this weekend.

Here are the two main items on their agenda.

SIN BINS The Irish FA want to gauge the opinion of the IFAB on the possibility of using sin bins for certain yellow card offences.

I really hope there is a positive response to this item and that permission is granted for an experimental law, to be used initially in lower divisions.

I would like to see players sin-binned instead …
