Take the A5199 Welford Road, south for about 10 miles and turn left to Mowsley. There is parking in the Main Street near the Village Hall (or alternatively there is parking at Knaptoft church ruins). Start the walk from the car park in Mowsley.
Walk down Main Street, past The Staff of Life pub to a road junction, cross to a farm gate and footpath sign with a stile on the right of the Wesleyan Chapel. Go over the stile and cross the field to a yellow marker by a gate over a stream and on to a stile in the left hand fence. Go diagonally up the hill to a stile in the hedge and continue on the same line to a stile by trees. Keep to the same diagonal to a yellow post by a metal gate. On meeting a bridleway which crosses the path, bear left with the bridleway for a few yards to a stile and footbridge on the right. This part may be very muddy so that it is easier to go through a metal gate at the junction of the bridleway.
