Prague, March 1 (CTK) - The Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Physical Training has admitted having made mistakes in financing the preparations of the Nordic World Ski Championship which ended in Liberec, north Bohemia, today, server Akutalne.cz has reported, referring to the ministry's official position. The ministry has admitted its mistakes after it studied the National Inspection Office's (NKU) report pointing to a number of controversies accompanying the construction of sport complexes in Liberec. The NKU has lodged a criminal complaint over the suspicious steps the Liberec town hall and the local Technical University had taken within the event's preparations. The NKU has criticised the ministry for insufficient supervision of the preparations. Defending itself, the ministry says its officials were under time pressure while approving changes in the project's financing. There was impending danger of the preparations not being completed in time, the ministry says.
