Prague, March 1 (CTK) - Czech Interior Minister Ivan Langer today said he is unlikely to lift the confidentiality obligation from former anti-corruption police officer Karel Tichy so that he can testify on a criminal file mapping controversial late businessman's activities and featuring many politicians' names. Such step would be at variance with law, Langer (Civic Democrats, ODS), said in a discussion on TV Prima. Earlier this week, Tichy asked Langer to release him from the obligation to maintain confidentiality, which he said would enable his defence against accusations that he was behind the leaks of information from the Krakatice (Squid) file. Krakatice thoroughly maps the activities of Frantisek Mrazek, an entrepreneur who was shot dead by an unknown perpetrator in early 2006.
