Liberec, North Bohemia, March 1 (CTK) - The Nordic World Ski championship in Liberec, which ended today, has been the ever largest sport event in Czech history, the costs of which reached 2.2 billion crowns, according to preliminary estimates. The final costs will be released in a few weeks, says the organising committee headed by Katerina Neumannova, former cross-country skiing world champion and Olympic medal winner. The Liberec championship on February 18-March 1 was visited by 170,730 people. The event's financial management was checked by the Supreme Inspection Office (NKU), which has lodged a criminal complaint against an unknown perpetrator in connection with suspicious deals by the town of Liberec and the local Technical University.
