GARY MEGSON has backed Euro sceptics Harry Redknapp and Martin O'Neill by claiming that Premier League survival is now a bigger prize than European glory.

Spurs boss Redknapp and Villa manager O'Neill have seen their clubs crash out of the UEFA Cup this week after fielding weakened teams in second legs against Shakhtar Donetsk and CSKA Moscow respectively.

Bolton boss Megson was criticised for resting key first-team stars in Europe last season as the Reebok outfit struggled to juggle the UEFA Cup with their battle to avoid relegation.
