Section: General News - Heads of state of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will be joined by nearly 1,000 leaders representing the region's political, economic, business and civil society sectors for a series of important events and conferences in Thailand between 22 February and March 1.
With the theme ASEAN Charter for ASEAN People, this summit and associated events are designed to help promote economic, political, social and cultural integration amongst the 10 member countries, which together boast a combined gross domestic product of over US$1,03 trillion and a population of about 570 million.
The 10 members of ASEAN are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
