Section: General News - India is celebrating victories of two home-grown movies at the 81st Academy Awards in Los Angeles, California, Sunday, February 22. A film about a six-year-old village girl with a cleft lip picked up the Oscar for best short documentary.

But it is Slumdog Millionaire's eight Oscars, including best picture, that garnered most of the attention in India and in the slum where the movie was filmed.
