Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses after an accident in Peterhead that has left a cyclist critically ill.

The 66-year-old man was involved in a collision with a red Land Rover at 12.30pm on Friday and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The accident happened on the Nether Kinmundy road, near its junction with the unclassified Cowesrieve road on the town's western edge.

The road was closed for about five hours as accident investigators assessed the circumstances surrounding the collision.
