Trucking and logistics company National Retail Systems will be plying the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach with 115 new trucks that fully comply with the ports' clean-trucks program.
The new trucks, with engines that meet 2007 Environmental Protection Agency pollution mitigation standards, will allow NRS customers to avoid a $70 per 40-foot container fee being collected by the ports.
