THE city council constantly warns it is going to crack down on rogue parkers.

We are told that they are not just a nuisance or inconsiderate but a danger to public safety, too.

So much so that the council recently decided to spend GBP4,000 a week to import wardens from Manchester to catch danger parkers at night.

On top of that, the council has created superwardens, tasked with stopping illegal parking.

Against that backdrop it was surely the height of folly for the Lord Provost's official car to be left parked on double yellow lines.
