[Xinhua: "40-Hour Forest Fires Extinguished in East China"]

SHAXIAN COUNTY, Fujian, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) - A fire that has lasted for nearly 40 hours across 130 hectares of forest were extinguished Saturday morning in east China's Fujian Province, local authorities said.

The flames in Shaxian County, about 270 km from the provincial capital Fuzhou, were put out at 3 a.m., said Hong Mingde, vice mayor of Sanming City. "There is no more spark in the forest of Shaxian County."
