Section: General News - The Foundation for Consumers heralds the Product Liability Act as another good step forward in consumer protection, The Nation reports.

The foundation's manager, Saree Ongsomwang, also sees no reason for Medical Council Assistant Secretary General Dr Ittiporn Kanacharoen to worry about the new act.

"I don't understand why Ittiporn has to worry. It's drug manufacturers who have to be more careful in avoiding compensation lawsuits," Saree said.
