But in his new book Beyond the Fields: Cesar Chavez, the UFW, and the Struggle for Justice in the 21st Century (UC Press), activist and United Farm Workers alum Randy Shaw argues for how the rise of Latino political power, the current immigrant rights movement and even Obama's campaign theme have roots in the fight for farmworker rights.
