Often, I run a radical idea by one of my clients, like a major chop or a drastic color changenot because I don't like her look, but because I want to see if she's willing to take a risk. If she isn'tand lots aren't, believe meI have a list of small things that make a big difference.
Try streaks
I consider highlights a small change compared to a full head of color. Add a few around the hairline and the part only. It will brighten your whole lookit's very Gisele. I like shades that are really subtle, so they don't look like highlights. Be sure not to go more than a shade or two lighter than your natural color.
Get some height
Here's the easiest way to pump up the hair at the crown: After towel-drying, work mousse (a golf-ball size if you have fine hair; a tennis-ball size for thick hair) into the crown of your head. I like KA[c]rastase Nutritive Mousse Nutri-Sculpt, but any mousse will work. Then lift the area with your fingers as you blow it dry.
