Cold, dry winter air can make hair limp, lifeless, and prone to static. Women may complain about summer humidity, but when it's gone, they miss how full it made their hair. Fortunately, fixing the problem is usually as simple as switching products.
Smooth out. If your hair looks dull and dry, the best way to restore softness to it is by shampooing with a moisturizing formula twice a week; follow with a rich conditioner.
Get a lift. Try a different tactic if hair is just limp. Limpness is typically caused by overactive oil glands, which can weigh the hair down at the roots. For those who have it, it's a year-round problem, but it may be more obvious in the winter, when humidity is no longer plumping up the rest of the hair. First, apply conditioner only from the ears to the ends. Second, I recommend using a dry spray shampoo, such as Klorane, before going out: It's made from ground oats, and it soaks up oil but doesn't sit on the hair like baby ...
