Pranesh Sarkar KOLKATA, Feb. 3: The project to liver transplantation at the Institute of Liver Diseases (ILD), SSKM hospital, has run into rough weather. Even after the institute was set up, the state government did not take organ transplant over here, while it was awaiting a report on brain death from a team of experts. However, to make matters worse, quacks all over the state are misleading people about the implications of brain death. Meanwhile, the health department is still trying to frame a suitable definition of brain death, that would be convincing enough for the patient's (who is clinically dead) kin.
