from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia Bhd's net profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2007 surged 123 percent to RM240.6 million from RM108.1 million in 2006, spurred by a bull run on both equities and derivatives markets.

In a statement here today, the exchange said its pre-tax profit doubled to RM319.0 million from RM152.9 million previously while operating revenue grew by 69 percent to RM443.1 million from RM262.1 million last year.

The exchange said it exceeded all its headline key performance index for 2007 in terms of return on equity (ROE), velocity and growth in number of derivatives …
