WSOC TV in Charlotte reported that on December 9, Randy Willis, the owner of Willis Packaging in Catawba, North Carolina, went to his business to check an alarm that had gone off. As he arrived, a man exited the building with a shotgun. Willis and the robber struggled, according to deputies from the Catawba County Sheriff's Office, and during the struggle, Willis pulled his pistol and shot the robber, killing him.
