The results are in for the 2008 ACG/Thomson Year End Dealmakers Survey, reflecting the challenges of a tumultuous second half of the year for worldwide markets. A big thank you to all members who took time to respond.

Only 14% of the 970 respondents representing corporate executives, intermediaries, private equity professionals and service providers believe that the current M&A environment is good or excellent. This marks a huge decline from the 43% of optimists in the midyear survey and 72% from December 2007 - and almost a 180 degree turn from 93% in mid-2007.
