The Reader is a drama about a woman who was a concentration camp guard during World War II. The animated docu-drama Waltz with Bashir is an Israeli film about the 1982 Sabra and Shatila massacres of Palestinians in Beirut. Both have received Golden Globe awards and have been nominated for Academy Awards.
