Over a 40-year career, the average full-time female employee will lose about $434,000 as a result of the gender pay gap, according to the Center for American Progress Action Fund's new report, "Lifetime Losses: The Career Wage Gap."
The gap begins at about $1,700 per year among 25 to 29-year olds and widens to more than $14,000 annually by retirement age. It's even worse for Hispanic and African-American women.
