Two Rohingya men are being held in custody on suspicion of entering the country illegally after being caught on Saturday on an island off Ranong.

Akbar Hun Sein, 25, an ethnic Muslim from Burma, was found hiding on Koh Sai Dam in Muang district on Saturday night by a team of village volunteers.

He told police he and other Rohingya were aboard a boat that sank off Ranong. He said he had swum ashore and was unaware of what had happened to his friends.
