Compared with their on-campus peers, online learners report deeper approaches to and engagement with learning, according to a recent Indiana University study.

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) collected info from 380,000 participants at 722 U.S. four-year colleges and universities. The researchers examined "deep learning," a type of learning that focuses on reflection, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and integrated learning.
