Women on the tenure-track report less clarity and satisfaction than men, according to a new report by the Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) at Harvard University, based on responses from more than 8,500 participants at 96 colleges and universities.

COACHE found that women on the tenure track rated 21 of 32 components (65%) of workplace experiences lower than their male counterparts. Women reported less clarity about tenure and are less satisfied with teaching, researching and support services than male colleagues.
