A father-of-two said his young family was lucky to be alive last night after a school coach skidded on an icy road and crashed into their house.
The coach carrying 25 pupils careered off the road and smashed into the side of the house in Ilminster, South Somerset, leaving it on the brink of collapse.
Minutes before the crash, Ben Hodder left for work leaving his girlfriend Emma Nicholls and their daughters, eight- week-old Lola and 20-month-old Lilly in the house.
Lola was just a metre away from the point of impact as the coach smashed through the two-storey semi-detached house in Herne Rise at 8.07am.
