Thailand: federation of Thai Industries wants fund from government to assist businesses.

Section: Business News - The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) will seek 1.15 billion baht from the government's midyear economic stimulus budget to assist the business sector, the Bangkok Post reports.

The proposal will be made today at the first meeting of the new ''war room'' set up by the Industry Ministry to act on urgent problems of local businesses.

''This 1.15-billion-baht budget will be essential to back up projects that were initiated by the private sector to support business operators,'' said Payungsak Chartsutipol, an FTI vice-chairman.
